Cover of The Luminous Train, book 1 by Agnesa Mirabel: a boy holding a lantern beside the Conductor, watching a glowing train cross a stone viaduct under a starry night sky

How it begins

What if the thing your child fears most could become their greatest source of courage?

Where the train stops

The journey

  • The Underground of Silence

Oliver steps onto a dark platform and asks who else is there. “You,” the conductor answers. “The part of you that’s hard to hear when the world is noisy.”

Each step he took shimmered gently for a moment before fading like a small star. “So I’m not getting lost?” “No. You’re leaving a trail.”

He leaves with glowing footsteps behind him.

  • Station of Shadows

The train is late, and the darkness grows bored and begins to play: the chair becomes a beast, the branches become long fingers. The darkness is never cruel here — only alone.

The darkness was not cruel. It was simply alone. And when it is alone, it likes to imagine.

He leaves with a small stone beneath his pillow.

  • Station of Dreams

A great field of pillows, some of them slowly breathing. It appears only when a passenger is tired — not in body, but in thoughts.

“Where are the tracks?” “In dreams, tracks aren’t needed.”

He leaves with a small key, still warm.

What it helps with

For the evenings that take longer

  • ease bedtime anxiety
  • understand their dreams
  • turn fear into curiosity
  • strengthen the parent–child connection
  • build a calming nighttime ritual

Written to be read aloud, in the voice you use when there is no hurry left in the evening.

And the story leaves something behind too:

On the pillow, right beside him, lay the same small key. Warm. As if someone had just been holding it.
